About us
We come to your home, and we follow your child’s lead.
Little Moments Health Care provides in-home Applied Behavior Analysis to autistic individuals and their families in Marion County, Oregon. We are small on purpose. The work happens on your floor, at your kitchen table, on your schedule.
Meet our founder
Little Moments Health Care was founded by Christina Williams, BCBA, because ABA can — and should — look different.
Christina earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of California, Davis, followed by a Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from National University.
Growing up alongside her autistic sister shaped the way she understood disability, communication, and support. Watching someone she loved navigate a world that often expected conformity rather than understanding inspired her to pursue behavior analysis with one question in mind: how can we better support autistic people without asking them to become someone they are not?
Christina is also autistic, with OCD, herself. Her lived experience continues to influence both her clinical work and the culture of Little Moments Health Care. She is an independent researcher developing clinical procedures directly with autistic individuals, and she advocates for legislative and regulatory change in the field, believing that the people most affected by autism should have a meaningful voice in how services evolve.
As a clinician, her approach combines evidence-based behavior analysis with respect for autonomy, assent, sensory needs, and self-determination. Therapy is never about making someone appear less autistic. It is about helping life become easier, communication more effective, and opportunities more accessible.
Little Moments exists because every person deserves to be loved for who they are, and supported in the little moments that matter.
Where we stand on ABA
We want to be transparent: ABA has a real history of harm. For decades it was used to make autistic children appear less autistic, to suppress stimming, and to push through a child’s distress in the name of compliance. Many autistic adults describe that experience as traumatic, and they are right to.
We do not practice that. We are not interested in teaching a child to hide parts of themselves to convenience others. We use behavioral science to help us understand what a child is communicating, and to help them accomplish it in a safer way.
The goal is never a child who complies. The goal is a child whose life is easier, who can assert appropriate autonomy, whose “no” is respected, and who has more say in their own day.
Ask us hard questions on the first call. We would rather make sure we are a good fit for you than take on a family we cannot serve the right way.
What assent looks like in practice
Assent is not a form you sign. It is something your child gives, moment to moment, and can take back at any time. In a session that means:
- “No,” walking away, turning away, or going quiet all count as an answer, and we honor them.
- Withdrawing assent has no consequence. Nothing is withheld to get it back.
- Stimming, movement, and sensory tools are never targets for reduction.
- If we cannot find a way to work that your child agrees to, that is our problem to solve, not theirs.
What a session looks like
We come to your home. Caregivers are welcome in the room, always. Much of what we do involves coaching the entire family, because you are the ones always there. Skills are often taught through play, or in ways that are fun and enjoyable for each child.
We keep our plans in simple language, we review them with you regularly, and we change them when they are not working.
Who we serve
We serve families across Marion County, Oregon. If you are outside our service area but reside in NW Oregon, please feel free to reach out. We will see if we can help, and if not, help you find someone who can.
